PAVEMENTS is an experimental documentary from writer/director Alex Ross Perry about the world’s most important and influential band, Pavement.

This wry, kaleidoscopic portrait of the iconic 90s indie rock group is simultaneously a behind-the-scenes look of their sold-out 2022 reunion tour, rehearsals for an off-Broadway jukebox musical based on Pavement’s greatest hits, the production of a “big-budget” Hollywood biopic with Joe Keery portraying frontman Steve Malkmus, and the opening of a Brooklyn museum exhibiting real and fabricated items from the band’s history.

Endlessly entertaining and metatextual, PAVEMENTS is an unconventional documentary about an equally unconventional band.
